Are You Alert to Spiritual Dangers?
Thursday April 23rd 2020
Earlier this week, we talked about how the greatest perils in this world come not from outside of us, but rather from within us. They are behaviours and beliefs that we can easily get caught up in, because we are humans, with a need for wisdom and Truth, who can follow the wrong things if we are not careful.
Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.”
We, who believe the Name of Christ, must be deception-proof. But how can we be full of Truth in an age where deceptiveness abounds? We must remain close to Christ. Jesus alone is the one who can hold us fast in the strong currents that swirl around us. We can never have enough of Him! Especially in a time such as this, we must 1) Spend time with Him in prayer and 2) Soak ourselves in the Scriptures, even more than we normally would.
Have you spent time with Jesus today? You might be looking for answers that explain what is happening to our world right now, but have you poured out to Him in prayer and waited humbly to hear the answers He gives? Have you spent more time in the Bible than you have spent online?
The more time we spend gazing into the face of Jesus, the more clearly we will see the difference between that which is true and that which is untrue. Prayer increases our sensitivity to all that is right and wrong.
Let us be men and women who remain close to Christ, who know Truth in a time when everyone is searching for it!
