Directs My Paths ()

Pastor Elio Marrocco, December 16, 2018
Part of the This Is Jesus series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

Where do you look when you need direction in life? Where do you find your answers when you have a big decision to make and you’re not sure what to do? Sometimes it can be hard to know if you’re on the right path in life. The reason is there are many crowding voices trying to tell you what to do. There are so many places you can turn to for direction.

Let’s talk about how you can trust Jesus to direct your path.

Often, Jesus is that last person that we turn when we need wisdom or guidance. We avoid Him because we’re afraid of the answer He’ll give us. Following Jesus usually takes us down the road less travelled, a narrow and difficult path.

“You can enter God’s kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way, but the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult and only a few ever find it.” (Matthew 7: 13-14)

Rarely will Jesus lead you in the same direction the rest of the world is travelling.

Generally, the path of the world will always lead you astray from what God intended for you from the beginning of time. Therefore, Jesus says to trust Him as leader.

You can trust Jesus to be your LORD because His path always leads to life.

When we call Jesus, Lord, we are declaring Him as Master; the one with absolute control.

What does it mean to call Jesus, Lord?
