Fulfill Your God-Ordained Destiny – Part 4

Date: 26th September, 2018
Read: Judges 6: 11-14

The book of Judges tells us about a man named Gideon who was hiding from his enemies, the Midianites, in a wine press when an angel visited him. The angel said to him: “The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valour.” God’s message to Gideon was ‘I have a lot more for your life. You can rise to greatness. What a destiny I have for you!’ Likewise, God is saying to every one of us: ‘I can change your life. You can be the change in your family, your workplace, your school, this world.’

Gideon was from the weakest tribe, Manasseh, and was the least in his father’s house, but God chose him to save Israel. With God’s affirmation, Gideon began to change his way of thinking. He rallied the troops of Israel and subdued the Midianites. The man who started out weak, poor and scared, rose to be one of the greatest judges and leaders in the history of Israel. He fulfilled his destiny. Where did it start? When an angel convinced him: ‘You are a mighty man of valour.’ It changed the way he saw himself.

We must listen to God’s voice saying to each one of us: ‘you are a mighty person of valour! You are a person with a wonderful destiny!’ We must believe that we can do what God says we can do. Draw on God’s strength and see yourself conquering bad habits. Let us not hide in the wine press any longer – God wants us to charge the Midianites. When we believe we are what God says we are, we will be who He says we are, receive what He has in-stored for us, and do what He tells us to do.

We will then fulfill our destiny!
