Dreamers in a Dying City

Read: John 13:3-4
Do you have a dream? Do you have a good picture of God’s plans for you for His Kingdom? Our dreams should keep us focused. Ask God for a dream that leads to His purpose for your life. It will help keep you away from wrong doing, and from falling in the trap of the devil.
Jesus knew where He came from, where He was going, His Purpose (dream) and Who He was. Therefore, the things of the world and all that He saw around Him, did not sway Him. The Kingdom of God is not about self-gratification, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17). This world is dying and wants to bring you down with it. It wants you to love and depend on it, then hold you prisoner. But we are in this world, not of it (Jn. 17: 14-15). We are only passing through with our dreams of a better city, the City of God (Heb. 11:13-16).
God told Abram to leave the wealth of Ur to go to the unknown. God gave Abram a promise, but no details. Just move! And Abram believed and God called him righteous (Gen. 15:6). Abraham pursued a dream without knowing the journey. He had a clear picture of it, having seen the promises afar off, embraced, and followed them. God instructed Abraham to leave the pleasures of this world in pursuit of a dream He gave him. Has God called you to follow a dream for His Kingdom that makes you scared? Like Abraham, your reward is sure.
Just move! Go after your dream and never look back!
