Getting Closer To God

Wednesday January 22nd, 2020

We are now in our 21 days of fasting and prayer. I hope you are joining us as we give up some pleasures of life for a while to spend time in prayer and time in His Word. Let’s press into God like we have never done before.

Someone said, “If I want something I’ve never had, then I need to do something I’ve never done.” It’s not easy to fast, but the results are amazing. I want to encourage you today to use this time of fasting to really seek God. You may have a decision to make in your life and you need God’s direction and approval. May I encourage you to use this time of prayer and fasting to seek and wait patiently for God to act?

In the hustle and bustle of life we can get distracted and self-reliant. We’re used to making decisions for ourselves, but God wants to be the chief decision maker in our lives. Why? Because He’s all-knowing and sees the big picture. He knows a good decision from a bad one. Sometimes we’re at a crossroads and the road that seems right is actually a bad one. Let God guide your footsteps.

Are you comfortable letting go and drawing closer to God? He wants to draw near to you for your good. To help you, not to harm you.
