The Gifts of the Spirit

Part 3

July 3rd, 2019
Read: 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

This week we end our series on the Gifts of the Spirit with the dynamic gifts. Jesus said in, Acts 1:8 “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you.” Power – Dynamis/ Dunamis; means explosive power. These gifts have the supernatural power of the Spirit to do the will of God.

(1) Faith.
“A supernatural impartation of belief and confidence in God for a specific situation without doubt.” This gift isn’t the everyday faith we have in Jesus. This is faith to do things out of the norm and combat unbelief. For example, you may be going through a difficult time and suddenly you receive a burst of faith that gives you the assurance that all will be well. There is a divinely inspired inner conviction to press on and trust God to do.

(2) Gifts of healings (plural).
“Spiritual gifts of divine health.” It is supernatural healing from God. This is not a gift that God gives to a ministry to heal others. This is a gift of the Spirit that comes on the person who is sick.

(3) Working of miracles.
“Divine intervention that alters our natural circumstances.” We have all experienced a miracle at some point in our lifetime. Some we do not even know took place. God will never stop doing miracles, because He cannot stop being God.

Let’s not be afraid of the Holy Spirit. Every believer can move in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit works for the edification and building-up of the Body of Christ and He is no respecter of persons.

Ask God, “Lord what are you saying to me today?”
